Polyurethane
Polyurethane first came to being as part of military research as a way to not only insulate aircraft but also to reinforce their physical structure. Polyurethane is the technology, but it comes in a variety of kinds to suit different applications and needs.
Compounds
Spray foam is a two-part compound that's formed when both parts are combined at the tip of the spray gun resulting in the final product. Very much akin to types of epoxy which have an activator that needs to be applied before it bonds and forms a glue.
